2. Purpose of Processing

PriceGuard uses this data to:

  • operate the application,
  • monitor prices,
  • generate alerts,
  • send account and system notifications,

  • calculate monthly included usage and overage usage,
  • display invoice history and billing status,
  • improve reliability and security.

3. Legal Bases

Depending on the context, PriceGuard processes personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract or steps taken at the user's request before entering into a contract,
  • legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the service,
  • compliance with legal obligations, including accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and record-keeping requirements,
  • consent, where this is required, including for optional analytics cookies on public pages.

4. Recipients And Service Providers

PriceGuard may share relevant data with service providers that support the operation of the service, including providers of:

  • payment processing and billing infrastructure, including Paddle,
  • hosting, server infrastructure, database, and backup services,
  • email delivery and support mailbox handling,

  • analytics services on public pages where consent has been given.

PriceGuard does not sell personal data.

5. Billing Providers

PriceGuard uses Paddle for payment processing, subscription management, billing portal access, and invoice-related workflows.

When billing is enabled, Paddle may process:

  • customer identity and contact data,
  • payment method details,
  • subscription status,
  • invoice and payment records,
  • usage-related billing events needed to calculate overage charges.

PriceGuard does not store full card numbers. Payment instrument handling is performed by Paddle.

6. Cookies And Analytics

PriceGuard uses essential cookies required for session handling, security, login state, and core site functionality.

PriceGuard may also use optional analytics cookies on public pages for Google Analytics 4.

Analytics cookies are intended to load only after the visitor grants consent through the cookie consent interface. Visitors can later change that choice through the Cookie settings link available on public pages.

7. International Transfers

Some service providers used by PriceGuard, including Paddle and Google Analytics, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Where that happens, PriceGuard expects those transfers to rely on an appropriate legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.

8. Email Notifications

If alerts are enabled, PriceGuard may send automatic emails when pricing conditions are met.

PriceGuard may also send service-related emails such as billing notices, account notices, support replies, and security communications. Promotional or optional marketing emails, if offered, should be handled separately from mandatory service communications.

9. Monitoring And Usage Records

PriceGuard stores monitoring history and billing usage records in order to:

  • show historical price movements,
  • generate alerts,
  • support customer billing transparency,
  • avoid duplicate billing events,
  • troubleshoot billing and scraper issues.

Usage records may include identifiers for tracked products, competitors, timestamps, and local billing status.

10. Retention

PriceGuard keeps personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

In practice, this generally means:

  • account and subscription data is retained while the account remains active and for a limited period afterward for support, dispute handling, security, and legal compliance,
  • billing and invoice-related records may be retained for longer where required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations,
  • technical logs are typically retained for shorter operational and security periods,
  • cookie consent records may be retained to demonstrate consent choices and preference history.

11. Security

PriceGuard uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account, monitoring, and billing-related data. No system can be guaranteed to be fully secure.

12. User Rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have rights related to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of their data.

Users may also have the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before that withdrawal.

Requests related to account and data handling should be sent through the contact form available on the PriceGuard website or to [email protected].

Users may also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

13. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the service, billing providers, security practices, or legal requirements.
